Gisella Borioli is a Milanese journalist and art director whose work brings together fashion, design and contemporary art. She is President and Creative Director of Superstudio Group, which she has led since the 1990s.

She studied visual communication with Giancarlo Iliprandi in Milan and new media at UCLA in Los Angeles, and has taught at the Brera Academy and on other specialist courses. She began her editorial career at the launch of the architecture and design magazine l'Ottagono before joining Condé Nast.

As editor-in-chief of several fashion publications, she has also written books on visual culture and style and developed television programmes, artistic projects and visual work.

Through Superstudio's two venues in Milan's Tortona district, she helped establish Fuorisalone across the city's design districts and transform a former industrial area into a creative hub.

She was featured in the exhibition 'W. Women in Italian Design' at Triennale Milano in 2016. Her awards in Italy and abroad include Milan's Ambrogino d'Oro, which she received in 2014.
